With 25 years of experience living with T1D, Ginger has produced a wide range of resources, interviews, guides, and stories through articles and books for people with diabetes. As an avid exerciser and former competitive athlete, she strives to help others thrive with diabetes no matter what challenges they are facing. Over the years, she's produced hundreds of articles and videos on type 1 and type 2 diabetes for a variety of diabetes websites, including DiabetesMine, DiabetesStrong, Healthline, BeyondType1, BeyondType2, Diathrive, InsulinNation, Type2Nation, T1D Exchange, and more! As a former powerlifter in 2009 and 2010, she set 15 records in drug-free powerlifting in the women's 148 lb. weight class with best lifts including a 308 lb. deadlift, 190 lb. bench press, and a 265 lb. squat. Those powerlifting years ignited her passion for helping other people with T1D learn how to manage their blood sugar level during exercise! Ginger speaks regularly at conferences for people with T1D and healthcare professionals on different critical aspects of thriving with this disease.
