I was born in the Adirondack mountains near the Akwesasne and St. Regis Mohawk Reservations, the eldest of four children. I grew up learning traditional skills from various elders. I started powwowing at a very young age and have powwowed throughout the eastern United States for more than 30 years. I spent 10 years in a truck, driving for a living. Spending all that time alone left me time to think and write. I shared a great deal of what I wrote during those years in Crossroads. I love art and have been an artist member of the Indian Arts and Crafts Association (IACA) since March 2004. I have won many awards at numerous Powwow Arts & Crafts Competitions for various items including: stone carving, basketry, regalia items, paintings (acrylic on canvas) and jewelry. I currently reside in central Ohio with my wife, Mindy and our dogs. I am currently working on three new titles and hope to have them all published soon.
