Gregory C. Randall was born in Traverse City, Michigan, raised in Chicago, and now, for more than fifty years, makes California his home. He is an award-winning literary, mystery, and thriller author with twenty-four books in print and five more in production. His tastes are broad and inclusive. He is also a cover and book designer as well as co-owner of the publishing business, Windsor Hill Publishing. His first book in the Sharon O'Mara Chronicles series, LAND SWAP FOR DEATH, was published in 2010. It was followed by CONTAINERS FOR DEATH, TOULOUSE FOR DEATH, 12TH MAN FOR DEATH, and DIAMONDS FOR DEATH. In 2019, LIMERICK FOR DEATH was published. All of his books are published by Windsor Hill Publishing. His police procedural and thriller series features Police Detective Tony Alfano and is set in 1933 Chicago. CHICAGO SWING and CHICAGO JAZZ are as noir as it gets. CHICAGO FIX was published in December 2018, and CHICAGO BOOGIE-WOOGIE in 2021. In 2024, he will release CHICAGO BACK-BEAT. His literary novel, THE CHERRY PICKERS, has garnered praise and awards from the IBPA and the BIPA for his story of a young man’s coming of age and awareness in the summer of 1956 in Michigan. His newest series features Alex Polonia, a Cleveland cop who, for an unfair reason, becomes an international security agent. VENICE BLACK and SAIGON RED were published in 2018 and 2019. The third, ST. PETERSBURG WHITE became available in August 2020. You can find them as ebooks, print, and audiobooks. His World War II thrillers with OSS Captain Max Adler fighting the Nazis in Europe are THIS FACE OF EVIL and PAWNS IN AN ANCIENT GAME. Look for two more during the next few years to complete the four-book series. His first science fiction novel, SECTOR 73, was published in June 2020. More are on the way. Recently, Randall has started another series that explores the modern American Western genre. His lead character is Sheriff Jordan Tynes, and the series takes place in Park County, Montana. Look for ONE YELLOW DOG, THE KILLINGS IN PARADISE VALLEY, and BLOOD IN THE YELLOWSTONE. FIRE ON BREAKNECK MOUNTAIN will be released later this year. Two mystery novels, THE MARIGOLD GANG and WHITE RABBIT, are also available from Amazon in ebook, paperback, and audio formats. These novels explore the impact of the Vietnam War fifty years after the fighting. They study the government’s intrusion into the private lives of its citizens and the secrecy behind some of its actions. Mr. Randall has been complimented on the strength of his female characters, international locations, and intriguing storylines. His work is in the thriller, adventure, literary, and historical genres, and he is also expanding into science fiction. Randall is a retired landscape architect and urban designer. In the early 1990s, Randall began exploring the relationship between Park Forest, Illinois, and American community planning. He learned that the two are intricately woven into the psyche of Americans, post-World War II growth, and suburban expansion. He researched and wrote what has become the definitive story of the Village of Park Forest, Illinois, the seminal community in the suburban growth of baby-boom America. Originally published in 2000 by Johns Hopkins University Press, the new edition of his book, AMERICA'S ORIGINAL GI TOWN, PARK FOREST, ILLINOIS, was released as a new edition in the fall of 2010 (Windsor Hill Publishing).
