Gretl Claggett

Gretl Claggett is a writer, speaker, communication consultant and activist with a mission to help others create powerful, free, authentic lives. She holds an MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College, an MFA in nonfiction from Goucher College and an MFA in theater from Western Illinois University. A Pushcart Prize nominee, her work has appeared in many journals, anthologies, and in on-line publications, such as Head Butler, The Daily Beast, The Good Men Project and ArchetypeMe. She's a regularly featured reader and speaker in New York City, and has been headlined at venues in London and Cambridge. Gretl teaches an ongoing memoir class at the 92nd Street Y and is currently working on a novel and a short film. MONSOON SOLO: Voices Once Submerged won a 2012 Forward National Literature Award, placing 2nd in the "short story collection" category--poetic justice for the book's narrative poems.
