I started in radio in 1992, in the world of CB, (Citizen Band) but I quickly became interested in being able to make long-range communications and I began to investigate how to get to talk to distant places. So in 1996, I got my first license, Technician, on December 11, 1996, as NP3IR. For me an achievement, I was active in the 2 meter bands only, as until 2001. For this year I managed to buy a multi-band radio and antennas for 6 and 2 meters. The adventure in the "magic band" began. The 6 meters can be full of frustration because it is a strange opening band, as the experts say, sometimes you don't need more than 5 watts to work a DX, in others a 1KW and in the strangest ones you will hear the DX but they won't listen to you. I have worked several DX stations that for me was not possible, like TR8XX in Gabon, Africa, a pity I don't have the QSL confirmed (confirmed via LOTW). Another with 8R1K, in Guyana, which for me is an exotic place. Enjoying a little bit of what the radio is, I fell in love more with the hobby. But for reasons beyond my control I had to stop doing radio for a while. That time was eternal, always longing to sit back and do radio, never losing contact completely. I had to renew my license for the first time. Year 2006 how time flies. Disappeared the CW, as a requirement, at some point and contrary to the fear of much the way became stronger and more heard in the bands that in many years. I am sorry to say that I have never been able to dominate him. But I admire who could and who will be able to. In 2010 the conditions finally exist, much to my regret, I love the hobby but those conditions of having more time to study were not what I wanted, and I was able to make my "upgrade" to General and complete it on December 18, 2010. The new adventure started when I upgraded to General, I started to experiment in the low bands, and so I started to contact different colleagues in other countries, the long range contacts (DX) have become an addiction of every day. Along with the digital modes I have already worked more than 100 countries or entities confirmed via LOTW. But even with some areas of the amateur radio bands left without being able to work I decided to upgrade to Amateur Extra and in June 2012 I completed the process. Now with all the privileges of a radio amateur I love to experiment with the digital modes, participate in all the contests of the different modes. The DX still has its magic as well as the 6 meter band. I hope if you listen to me, you can work me.
