H. D. Barnett

关于作者

H.D. Barnett resides in Kenosha, WI with her husband, and major book contributor, Troy Barnett. They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters and have two beautiful granddaughters and a wonderful son-in-law. I always hoped to make a difference and impact in the world by writing something about the end of days. It was a dream of mine since I was quite young. I believe it comes from my lifelong interest in the book of Revelation. I wrote Under the Manger in 2017 and published it on Christmas Day the same year. It is a post-apocalyptic Christian suspense novel. It was the first of a planned trilogy. Finally, after retiring, I completed the second book of the series titled The Mark, which was published on August 2, 2024. The final book in the series should be completed by the end of 2024. Now that I have granddaughters, I have started writing children's books. I just published a children's chapter book for early readers titled The Adventures of Bo and Koali: Helping Ruby Get Home. I have also written four board books that have yet to be published, but keep watch for them. When I was young, I learned that I was related to Laura Ingalls Wilder. I knew I wanted to become a writer, like her. While still in school, I wrote many short stories and plays. My family history of writers also includes Rose Wilder Lane and Thornton Wilder. Fun facts: I one finger typed my first draft of Under the Manger, my first novel, in the notes app on my I-phone. I came up with the title for Under the Manger before I knew why. I realized the meaning when I was writing the end of the second chapter. I wrote the endings of both Under the Manger and The Mark before I began writing the start of the books. Similarly, I have already written the ending and an epilogue for the third and final book in the series. My husband and I are hockey enthusiasts and plan to visit all 33 NHL arenas. We have been to 13 so far. We also went to watch the Chicago Blackhawks play a game in the Czech Republic in 2019. I worked as both a 911 dispatcher and a Judicial Assistant, completing a combined total of 30 years of service. My husband Troy was a Sheriff Detective and served in that capacity for 31 years, the final years of which were a bit tumultuous during the Kenosha riots. We have two adult daughters, who reside in Chicago and Denver and are very successful in their careers. During our retirement we are enjoying spending time with our two little granddaughters, daughters, family, and friends. We love to travel. Our favorite destinations are Colorado, Florida and Hawaii. I am proud to be at least 1/4 Norwegian and we finally were able to visit Norway for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2019. We have many countries yet to visit in our beautiful world.
