H.J. Campbell is a long-time veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the defense aerospace industry. He completed 20 years in the Air Force including 15 years in SAC. His SAC assignments included the 42nd BMW at Loring AFB, ME, 320th BMW at Mather AFB, CA, 43rd Strategic Wing at Andersen AFB, Guam, and HQ SAC Maintenance Standardization and Evaluation Team (MSET). After SAC was deactivated in Jun 1992, he was transferred to HQ Air Mobility Command (AMC) where he supported much needed KC-135 avionics upgrades. After his retirement from the Air Force, he served in the aerospace industry as a program manager and director for modification, maintenance, and logistics programs on KC-135, KC-10, C-130, C-27, and other Air Force aircraft. With this book, the first in a planned series about SAC aircraft, he is embarking on his “third career” as a military historian and author.
