Hannah Lawrence is a former elementary classroom teacher who traded whiteboards for magnifying glasses! Before her career as a teacher, she attended Duke University and got a degree in psychology on the pre-health track with minors in chemistry and education. After graduating, she spent a year at the University of Washington as a medical scribe and loved getting to explore careers in medicine in Seattle. Ultimately, she discovered her passion for teaching and got a master's degree in early literacy and elementary education from SMU. Now the author and creator of children's science activity book series, the Junior Scientists, Hannah finds joy in capturing the magic of STEM careers for kids to explore while keeping the spirit of fun-filled curiosity alive and well. With a flair for making science learning both fun and magical, she believes science learning should be full of giggles, gasps, and "aha!" moments! Writing elementary science content is the perfect meeting of worlds for Hannah! Through these books, she has been able to use her own experiences in both the science and education worlds to inform her creations to prove that science isn’t just educational—it’s the most fun you’ll ever have! When not dreaming up new content for the Junior Scientist series, you can find her traveling, reading lots of mystery books, and exploring the great outdoors with her husband, Ben, and their golden retriever puppy, Duke.
