Harold G. Nelson

Raised on a Montana homestead, Dr. Nelson completed his first two degrees in architecture before moving to the study of social systems design under C. West Churchman at UC Berkeley. His thesis is one of the first to integrate design and systems thinking. Dr. Nelson received his Doctorate, “with distinction”, from Berkeley. He was Nierenberg Distinguished Professor of Design at Carnegie Mellon (2009-10). He is past-president of the International Society for Systems Science.  The Design Way was named "Outstanding Book of the Year" by the Division of Instructional Development of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.
