Haru Yamada

Hi. I'm Haru, thank you for visiting me here. I'm a global nomad and sociolinguist who loves thinking and writing about how people talk and listen across cultures. Growing up, Japan was my anchor so I have written much about communicating in Japanese, which feels so different from communicating in English. I currently live in London where I've been writing a new book on the fourteen channels of listening which we use to understand people and the world around us every day. I'm excited to announce that the book will be out in March of 2025, and hope it will help you become reattuned to your wonderful practice of listening.
