Heather McCombs is the author of the LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation Guide, v.4. She has an M.S. in Organizational Leadership and Quality from Marian University, a B.F.A. from California Institute of the Arts, and an associate in interior design from Fox Valley Technical College. McCombs worked extensively as a construction project manager and interior designer for various organizations throughout Wisconsin on the owner and contractor side including Lawrence University and Ethan Allen. She taught sustainable management for eight years for the University of WI Sustainable Management graduate program and brought hundreds of green building and design educational opportunities to Wisconsin as Executive Director of the USGBC WI chapter. McCombs’ textbook, LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Guide, v.4, American Technical Publishers, 2015, is used worldwide as a tool to introduce the core concepts of sustainability to students and professionals in many fields. McCombs leads USGBC’s LEED Prep-Take-Teach course for high school and college teachers and is an instructor in Fox Valley Technical College’s Construction Management Technology program.
