关于作者

Heather Lyn Mann loves this precious planet. Environmental advocacy, blue water sailing, and Eco-Mindfulness Teaching permeate her life and writing as expressions of her adoration. She is the author of Ocean of Insight: A Sailor’s Voyage from Despair to Hope (Parallax Press, 2016)—a debut memoir of six years and 15,000 miles traversing the wilderness while querying the Great Atlantic Teacher about how to be in a suffering world. Heather is the founder and past director of the Center for Resilient Cities (www.ResilientCities.org) where among her responsibilities she advised the US Forest Service on climate change policy. Heather’s environmental advocacy career began with a Masters of Land Resources from the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh ordained Heather in 2006 into his core community of practice—the Order of Interbeing. Currently, she is facilitator of the North American Earth Holder Sangha in the Plum Village Tradition (www.EarthHolder.org). She leads non-religious retreats around the country, is on faculty at the acclaimed Sophia Institute, and is the spiritual director of the Charleston Community of Mindful Living. Plus, Heather is an active member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Her sailing escapades and spiritual essays are published in the Mindfulness Bell, Anchor, Cruising World, and Blue Water Sailing magazines, and at OneEarthSangha.org, EarthHoldingHereandNow.org, and WomenandCruising.com. Heather’s blog, www.HeatherLynMann.com , is the place to learn about Eco-Mindfulness, get involved in calls to action, and arrange future speaking engagements.
