Helen's latest book "Women in Intelligence: The Hidden History of Two World Wars" is published in September 2023. MI9: A History of the Secret Service for Escape and Evasion in World War Two" has been widely covered in the national press. Her critically acclaimed book "The Walls Have Ears: The Greatest Intelligence Operation of WWII" featured in the Top 8 Books of the Year by the Daily Mail (2019). She is the leading expert on the 'secret listeners' at special eavesdropping sites by British intelligence in WWII. She has been at the forefront of widespread coverage and in-depth research of the greatest intelligence deception of the war: the bugging of Hitler’s generals at Trent Park, North London as well as Latimer House and Wilton Park in Buckinghamshire. Helen is recognised as the official biographer of MI6 spymaster, Colonel Thomas Joseph Kendrick. Her biography of Kendrick - "Spymaster: The Man who saved MI6" - has been highly acclaimed as one of Waterstones best biographies of the year 2021. ​Her published books include "The London Cage" about Britain's Secret WW2 Interrogation Centre, amongst a portfolio of books that include "Inside Nuremberg Prison"; "Denazification: Britain's Enemy Aliens, Nazi war Criminals & the Reconstruction of post-war Europe"; "Freuds' War" and "Churchill's German Army", "From Dachau to D-Day" and "German Schoolboy, British Commando".
