Helen Ward Day, BS, MLS, is a former academic librarian who, like many librarians, always knew her life was to be spent writing. She has been writing professionally since 1997 with an emphasis on health, lifestyle, and parenting topics. Helen has written dozens of articles for national, regional, and local magazines, which eventually led to her being the owner and publisher of PK Media. Parents & Kids Magazine is PK Media’s flagship publication. She writes about Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as other inflammation disorders; hospitality, and parenting.She is passionate about fostering healthy families in her adopted home state of Mississippi. Her first book, Organize Your Life! Skills: you need to conquer the areas of chaos in your life, was published in 2006. Look for a revised and updated edition soon. Open Heart, Open Home was her second book, written to encourage people to deepen their personal relationships through home entertaining. Her latest book, Thriving with Rheumatoid Arthritis, is based upon her 25 years’ experience with RA and is the first of several books on living with chronic, invisible illnesses. She graduated from Florida State University and served most of her career in academic librarianship. She has been a writer and entrepreneur since 1997.
