Henry Fountain is a science writer at The New York Times, where he covers climate change and other subjects. During his two decades as an editor and reporter at the Times, he's covered many other science-related subjects as well, including: lab-grown meat, roller coaster design, the physics of football, the flaws of forensic science, tissue engineering, skyscraper demolition, the expansion of the Panama Canal, the mechanics of El Nino, mudslides, droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural and human-caused disasters, including the 2010 Gulf oil spill and the 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdowns. He became interested in the 1964 Alaska earthquake around the time of its 50th anniversary, in 2014.
