Howard Frank is an award-winning journalist and author of two books, Talk to the Devil, and The Colors of the Rainbow – a Children’s Guide to Spectroscopy. As a native New Yorker living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for most of his professional life, Howard frequented the subways to commute to his licensing and marketing company in the fashion industry. In the aftermath of an IPO, Howard chose to pursue a career in writing. His first effort was to join the staff of Gannett’s Pocono Record, a daily newspaper. There he won numerous awards for beat and investigative stories. He became a columnist for the paper, writing a weekly opinion column called Frankly Speaking. The column drew a large following and won him an Associated Press award. After a dozen years at the paper, he transitioned to content writing, traveling the country and documenting researchers’ scientific journeys of discovery in many fields that impact our lives. He now makes the Lehigh Valley of Northeast Pennsylvania his home, where he enjoys the closeness of nature and being able to park without having to move his car every day.
