Hui-Ying LeSage is a Seattle Metropolitan Magazine top-doc in family medicine with years of experience in taking care of people of all ages and lifestyle preferences. Painting and writing are her creative passions. All her paintings start with a story, with subtle humor and educational concepts. Her uniquely exquisite watercolor paintings and narrative encompass realism, vibrancy, and detailed animal expressions that tell their own stories even without words. She infuses her compassion and love for children into each page and each character in her picture stories. Her subject matters and gallery-quality paintings, although produced as a children’s book, will be enjoyed by children and adults of any age. Known for her inclusive counseling styles, as an artist and author her paintings and stories include the whole spectrum of the rainbow. She immigrated to the U.S. in her teens, a challenging age to start over in a new country while learning a new language and culture. She became a family physician to make a difference in the lives of people of diverse backgrounds and continues to fight for equality and dignity. She lives with her husband and their cat, simply called “6”, in Washington State.
