Hyojin Kim

Hyojin Kim has always been enchanted by the power of storytelling, from children's tales to the boundless worlds of science fiction. Her love for books inspired her to create stories of her own—filled with adventure, heart, and a touch of magic. She earned her Master of Science in Brand Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and now works at an English teaching institute in South Korea, where she encourages young students to explore literature in their second language. Hyojin recently released her debut children’s book, Brave in the Dark, which follows a courageous young whale on a daring escape from the zoo to reunite with his family. With the help of the Brave Squad—a team of loyal animal friends—he embarks on a thrilling journey of friendship, determination, and bravery. Through her writing, Hyojin hopes to inspire young readers to dream big, embrace kindness, and believe in the power of courage.
