Ilana Griffo is a best-selling author, and illustrator. Her personality and work process can be described as fast-paced and bursting with creative energy. Ilana launched her business as a side hustle, first designing a stationery line, Sugar & Type which included hand-drawn cards and the Rule the World Planner, a weekly planner designed for creative go-getters. After leaving her full-time job as an art director in 2015, she quickly grew her side hustle into a six-figure design studio. Her work has been featured on Buzzfeed™ and in various print publications. Ilana is approachable, honest, and sassy; she understands the challenges creative business owners face and is passionate about helping them to achieve their goals and reach their professional dreams. In addition to serving her own clients, Ilana has served as a Program Director for the upstate New York chapter of AIGA (the American Institute of Graphic Arts) and embraces opportunities to connect with fellow creatives in person and through social media. She teaches workshops throughout upstate New York and has taught as an adjunct instructor at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ilana balances sass with sweet; she strongly believes in eating dessert first and always. She lives in Rochester, New York with her bike enthusiast husband, Gregg, son Heath, daughter Zoie, and their two (big) fur babies.
