Ira David Socol

Ira David Socol has led a life devoted to service at the ragged edges of society. Though his first academic experiences were in art and architecture, his careers include serving as a New York City Police Officer, working in Emergency Medical Services, leading learning technologies for a homeless service agency, working in vocational rehabilitation, and working in public education - including some of the nation's most impoverished school districts, before coming to Virginia to build a radically new vision of education with Dr. Pam Moran. Proudly and defiantly dyslexic and ADHD he is committed to giving every child every opportunity.
