My husband of twenty years, Ward, and I share a passion for educational piano music. I am the busy piano teacher with over thirty piano students in my home studio and a full schedule of pedagogy, piano literature, group class, and applied students at Anderson University. He, on the other hand, is a composer and photographer with a deep love for music publishing. We met during our studies at UofSC and have worked together in music publishing from the beginning. I worked for five years as Keyboard Managing Editor for The FJH Music Publishing, and then for almost ten years as Production Editor for Faber Piano Adventures. During this time, I co-edited and translated the Spanish edition of the Piano Adventures method and contributed toward the editing and workshops of both domestic and international editions. Ward is still with Piano Adventures, where he is the Operations Manager. Together we have created a new pedagogy blog and have published two series of literature and etude books. Our website and pedagogy project, Piano for Teachers, is inspired by our desire to help teachers connect their students with the best available resources. We want to help bridge the gap between the basic methods and the study of intermediate and advanced repertoire by helping teachers with resources, information, and publications that can aid them in their mission of preparing students for a successful transition into advanced playing. You can tour the studio, explore our publications in depth, and join our blog by visiting us at: www.pianoforteachers.com
