Isela Phelps

Isela Phelps is the author of the Loom Knitting Primer book, and subsequent books, all published by St. Martin's Griffin. In early 2005, she was approached by a publisher who found her via her blog (no longer in available). At the time, she was designing patterns for a family-owned company called DA Looms (which was later acquired by a different entity, and subsequently closed down), one of the few loom knitting manufacturers in the US. Many of the knitting looms that appear in the books were created by the few loom knitting manufacturers available at that time, many of which are no longer in existence. She maintains connected to the fiber arts, now mainly through needle knitting.
