J. R. Klein is an award-winning author of ten books. His debut novel, FRANKIE JONES, is a book of literary fiction that was released in 2016. THE OSTERMANN HOUSE, a psychological thriller, was selected as Best Book of 2017 by Advice Books International and was a Killer Nashville Claymore Award Finalist and an Eric Hoffer da Vinci Eye Finalist. A DISTANT PAST, AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE, a book of literary fiction, was published in 2019. TO FIND: THE SEARCH FOR MEANING IN LIFE ON THE GRINGO TRAIL, a memoir of Klein's travels through Mexico and Central America, was published in 2019. His books, THE CODE and THE VISITOR, are thrillers set in Vermont and Minnesota, respectively. THE CODE was a 2022 Feathered Quill Silver Medal Book Award Winner in the category of Mystery and Suspense. QUARTER RATS is a tale of Klein's days in the New Orleans French Quarter. His most recent books, TIMES LIKE THESE and ALL THE BURNING ROOFTOPS, are books of literary fiction that were released in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Klein published an autobiography, IF I COULD DO IT ALL AGAIN, in 2022. In addition to writing books of fiction and non-fiction, Klein is an Emeritus Professor of Immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, having published more than a hundred and fifty research articles in scholarly journals.
