J. Ryan Hersey

J. Ryan Hersey is the author of the hilarious and heartwarming Max E. James children’s chapter series that captivates kids while entertaining parents. Growing up in Maryland, Ryan was a rambunctious boy that always needed outside time. Whether it was exploring in the woods, swimming in rivers, fishing, or riding dirt bikes, he was always outside and always on the go. At 43 and living in Hampton Roads Virginia, not much has changed except that his playground has expanded from river to ocean and he has two sons who also need outside time. I’m sure his wonderful wife of 18 years appreciates that fact every day – their outside time is her quiet time! The Max E. James series is inspired by Ryan’s childhood experiences and daily life with his family. It’s always entertaining to see what kind of trouble three little boys can get into, especially when one of them looks like an adult.
