Jonathan was born in 1955 and brought up in West Wickham before graduating from Kent at Canterbury University in 1976 with a degree in Economics and Sociology. He later worked as a labourer, firefighter, community worker and teacher before retiring. He lives in South Yorkshire and has three grown up children. His interests include dog walking, politics, philosophy, religion, beekeeping, crafts and sailing. The Manifesto for a Kinder Politics is his first published work. He is currently, a member of the Labour Party, John Macmurray discussion group, Rotherham Friends of Palestine and Rotherham Interfaith. Since retiring he has also taken up an interesting in sailing with a small boat based in Caernarfon, though far from a skilled sailor, he enjoys the people, the environment and challenge. Sadly he has had to take a break from beekeeping as a recent move would have confused them - the bees that is- but hopes to continue when more settled. He enjoys walks, conversation with friends and visiting family. He has a sister in Australia, a son in Barcelona, a daughter in Wales and another son in Sheffield so plenty of opportunity to move around. His constant companion is Max, his dog, now 12 years old, but has moments of intense excitement, usually when food is involved but otherwise sleeps a lot and never argues.
