I have worked as an electronics engineer for 35+ years and travelled the world. I have primarily worked in automotive electronics but also spent time with healthcare, telecommunications and GPS technology companies. Central and most important to me in all of those roles and countries I have worked in has been the people. Countries are so much more than they appear from news headlines, their history and their position in the world. For me, the people define my impression and knowledge of a country. I have been unfailingly impressed in almost everywhere I have travelled with the people I have met. Of course, we all meet people we don't or can't get along with...that happens everywhere and in all countries. But exceptions don't define anything. My first series of books is on the USA...a country where I always found the vast majority of people to be kind, polite, helpful, optimistic, positive, resilient and tough when needed. Its a country I love to visit both for business and pleasure. I look forward to retuning again soon!
