Jacques R. Pauwels

关于作者

I was born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1946, but have lived in Canada since 1969. I am married and have two children and five grandchildren. I studied history and political science and have the following degrees: - Licenciate in history, University of Ghent, Belgium, 1969. - Doctorate in history, York University, Toronto, 1976. - Master's in Political Science, University of Toronto, 1984. - Doctorate in Political Science, University of Toronto, 1995. I taught history and also political science at York University, the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Guelph. However, I am now heavily involved in a family business, Pauwels Travel Bureau, based in Brantford, Ontario, and specializing in cultural group tours all over the world. I have written books on Nazi Germany, World Wars I and II, the French Revolution, and the origins and meaning of the names of peoples and places. They were published in Canada, the USA, England, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Cuba, and Sri Lanka in a total of six languages: English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, and Italian. For more details, please check my website, www.jacquespauwels.net. PS: I am unrelated - happily so! - to French journalist and writer Louis Pauwels (1920-1997), author (together with Jacques Bergier) of a notorious book, 'The Morning of the Magicians'.
