Jaklen Alkyan

Jaklen Alkyan is an Assyrian woman born in Iran. In 1989, she left Iran as a refugee and found refuge in Germany before making the United States her permanent home in 1993. Jaklen earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus, and later pursued a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Her career path led her to become a well-traveled Human Resources Executive. Driven by her deep affection for children and animals, Jaklen discovered her passion for writing. She made her literary debut with the award-winning book, A Lovebird Named Lucy, which received the Purple Dragonfly First Place Winner for Children’s Non-Fiction and the Mom’s Choice Level 1 Gold Award. Her subsequent works include Audrey and Lucy’s Backyard Adventure, Audrey’s Christmas Wish, and Oliver’s Journey, each receiving acclaim in their own right. Jaklen currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where she continues to draw inspiration from her surroundings.
