James Bernard Murphy

James Bernard Murphy teaches political philosophy and political theology in the Department of Government at Dartmouth College. Before becoming a professor, he worked as a city planner in the City of New York, where he was born. He received his Masters of City Planning from M.I.T. and his B.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University. Professor Murphy has written books on the dignity of work, the nature of law, the thought of Rene Girard, the history of political philosophy, the Bible, human development, deification, and political theology.
