I do not like talking about myself, so I'll let my stories do it for me. Most of the stories started out as bedtime stories. You see, years and years ago I had a huge problem with insomnia. I just had too much trouble getting to sleep. The thoughts in my head would just race around and prevent my mind from settling down to where I could go to sleep. Then one night, I tried something to help me. Beginning at around the age of 22, I began to tell myself a story to stop the spinning thoughts--it worked. Night after night I would continue the story just so I could get to sleep. Well, to make a long story short, that story I told myself is one of my books. It is entitled "Solutions: The Dilemma of Hopelessness." Originally, it was entitled "Solutions." I typed out a final manuscript back in 1995, and I even submitted it to a publishing company, but it was rejected. The current story is pretty much the way I imagined it back in 1982, but I did change the reason why the main character, Timothy, was picked for the mission. This was done because I saw a way to connect 6 additional bedtime stories and make it into a series--The "Solutions" series. My story "The Garden Club," was the second of my bedtime stories. Like the first, I continued with it nightly as my cure for insomnia. The version that is published is just like what I imagined except for one change that really did not affect the flow or outcome of the story. I started typing out drafts of the manuscript back in 1995, but never had a final draft until I had it published on Bookrix. Now, as I said, I'll let the stories explain me. The explanation, however, is not of my life but my attitudes concerning life. This includes my thoughts on God. These thoughts are included in each of my stories. They are heavy in the Solutions series--what I actually thought about God in my bedtime stories to myself is spelled out in A Dog's Dilemma. These thoughts are also in the series other stories and reflect my thoughts on God as I have them today. Anyway, I'll stop here. One other note. Although my books are for free on Amazon, I think you might need a credit card to attain them. If so, I posted free copies of each story at Bookrix.com (search for James Gerard or book title). This is the site that published my stories. To either read the stories directly from the Bookrix site or download them, you will have to create a profile to join the site, but no financial information is needed to read my or anyone else's stories. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have taken the time and the interest to either have read, rated, or commented on any one of my stories. Thank You, James Gerard
