The Rev. Dr. James Kubal-Komoto has served Unitarian Universalist congregations as a minister for more than 23 years. He grew up unchurched in the Chicago suburbs before discovering Unitarian Universalism in his early 20s. Before becoming a minister, he worked as a journalist for community newspapers and then as a teacher in Japan. He has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Meadville-Lombard Theological School in Chicago. He currently lives in North Carolina with his wife and son.
