James L. Carpenter’s journey is far from conventional. A proud veteran, he was wounded during the Iraq War in 2009 and honorably discharged the following year. Rather than following the path of elite academia, he earned his associate degree from a local community college. Now residing in the Pacific Northwest, Carpenter enjoys a quieter life with his faithful dog, TidBit, channeling his unique experiences into his writing.
