James L. Hoffman

Jim Hoffman, a lifelong explorer of North Carolina, has been writing about fun things to see and do in the Carolinas since 1995. He began his journalism career as a newspaper reporter and editor and migrated to public relations, first working for Charlotte's Discovery Place science center and then Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in the heart of the Piedmont. In addition to three books in the Day Trip series and one in the Fun with the Family series, published by the Globe Peqout Press, he also writes a column for his hometown newspaper, The Gaston Gazette. Jim is passionate about the environment and exploring nature, science, history and getting to the know the people who make the Carolinas a great place to play.
