Let me start off by saying, yes I am Canadian! I am a lifelong gamer/nerd/techie. Yup, haven’t bought a premade system in close to 20 years. Always built my own, and spend my time trying to work out the bugs in different ones. Love video games no matter the medium or the bit level. I’ve been an indie writer before indie writing was a thing back in the old days (has it really been that long) where I played text styled games called sims on AOL. Where each person would make a character, a game master would set a scenario and let’em loose! Can I admit it now? I finally see the Game Master’s point of view that sometimes god characters ruin everything for everyone. Don’t expect them in my books, or if there are powers there are limits to keep things balanced. As games and mediums have changed I’ve always written in the background. Game reviews, toy reviews, stories set in other people’s universes. It wasn’t until I read some manga that I saw the seeds of my original stories coming to be. Trust me, its not always easy creating a universe from stage #1. Wild Ride spent over two years in development. I learned a lot of lessons from that launch, and with that knowledge I’ve continued to grow and develop as a writer. I want to thank Nicki and others like her for helping me learn thing along the way. Despite working a lot of jobs (writing is my third active job), it’s also the one where I feel I’m learning the most. I find writing addictive as any drug I’ve ever heard of, it’s one more thing. Where will I go next with character X, or I think up scenario Y which characters do I need for it. Makes sense for a guy who ‘grew up’ playing games like Sim X, Civilization, and such.
