James M. Cooper is Professor of Law at California Western School of Law in San Diego, where he has also served as Associate Dean, Experiential Learning and an Assistant Dean. He also serves as a Research Fellow at the Singapore University of Social Sciences and a Visiting Professor at the University of Heidelberg in its Master of Law program in Santiago de Chile. He has served on the U.S. government delegation to the World Intellectual Property Organization Advisory Committee on Enforcement and consults with governments, multinational corporations, non-profit organizations, and Indigenous groups about disruptive technologies, intellectual property, trade law, and sustainable development. He is the co-author (with Kashyap Kompella) of a new book - “A Short and Happy Guide for Lawyers” - published by West Academic Press in the United States in fall 2024.
