James MacLean

James MacLean is Head of Community Outreach at the Capital Area District Libraries and a graduate of the University of Detroit. He holds a Masters in Library Science and a MA in History, both from Wayne State University. James is the co-author of Lansing: City on the Grand 1836-1939. His book, Darius B. Moon: The History of a Michigan Architect, 1880-1910 was given a 2016 award for Outstanding Michigan History Publication Private Printing by the Michigan Historical Society. His next book, Lansing's Young Architects: William Appleyard, R. Arthur Bailey and Frederick Thoman, was awarded the 2020 honor for Outstanding Michigan History Publication Private Printing by the Michigan Historical Society.
