Originally from a city called Poughkeepsie in NY. Somehow, after getting a BA in English Literature, I ended up in the finance world. That was after I discovered an English Literature degree didn't open too many doors for jobs and writers don't eat very well. A number of years with GE Capital before ending up with John Deere Financial and ultimately spending over 30 years in the industry. Moved 9 times during my career and lived in 7 states before retiring early and building our 10th home on a lake in Tennessee. It was a good ride, and while the many moves were challenging for my wife and 2 kids, I'm very thankful for our good fortune. And now, I finally have the time to put that English degree to work and have published four novels in three years! The fifth is underway. While Faulkner and Hemingway are probably safe, I'm finding my voice and my stride, and I have a few more novels in me. When not writing, I'm either visiting my kids and grandkids in Iowa, slalom skiing on the lake, or playing tennis down in Knoxville. For 9 seasons, I also volunteered as the assistant tennis coach at Union County High School...a truly rewarding experience. Of course, I also read lots of suspense/mystery books. Finally, I had to laugh when my daughter showed me the mug she recently picked up...it said, "I don't need Google because my father knows everything!" Probably not meant as a compliment, but I thought it was perfect!
