Creating safe spaces is a special interest. Writing and illustrating children's book is one way to reach out and help families grow such safe spaces. As an AuDHD author with Neurodivergent children I find focusing on connections (not compliance) and acceptance (self, family, and community) helps kids thrive. For 20 years I carved out a career as an ASL interpreter and children's theatre performer. Parenthood, a pandemic, and the unfurling of my own neurodivergence changed the course of my life to become an author, illustrator, and all round content creator. Our family cat, Rufus, who greets each of us in the morning, comes to snuggle when big emotions arise, and who visits each kid to meow goodnight, is featured on the cover of "Right For Me" and is always a good source of inspurrrration. Our other newly adopted cat, Starky was the inspiration behind the "Sick Kid Daily Log" - he curled up to both kids when stick and attended all of our "sick sleepovers".
