Janet Ward Schofield

Janet Schofield, Professor and Senior Advisor at Royal Thimphu College (RTC) in Bhutan, was previously a Professor of Psychology at the U. of Pittsburgh. Her other roles included: visiting scholar in Germany, seminar leader for U.S. senators and congressional representatives; member of several National Academy of Sciences boards and committees; and consultant to Singapore's National Institute of Education and Cambodia's Centre for the Study of Peace and Conflict. Her research has been used by the U.S. Supreme Court and featured on radio and TV in the U.S., Europe and Asia. A Harvard-educated social psychologist, she has published over 125 articles & book chapters and 3 books, one of which won the Gordon Allport Intergroup Relations Prize. She has given invited talks on 5 continents and at universities including Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford. She has traveled in more than 120 countries and lived in Bhutan since 2009, where she helped to start RTC.
