I believe that when the world is falling apart, we're just one laugh away from putting it together again. Ever since I was little, I've had this outlook on life. As a little girl I would read newspaper articles out loud to my family and friends, incorporating them into the stories, making them laugh. By the time I was in junior high, I was creating plots and characters of my own. And I have been a prolific writer ever since. I am the author of two blended holiday picture books: Latkes for Santa Claus - a 2022 International Book Finalist - and Easter Eggs and Matzo Balls. I blog frequently for AARP- The Ethel and AARP - Veteran Report. My essays, articles and short stories have been in numerous anthologies.I was proud to be named a 2013 BlogHer Voice of the Year. And an honoree in the 2016 Erma Bombeck writing competition. To learn more about me, visit my blog www.theboomerrants.com and my website www.JanieEmaus.com.
