Jason Lyall

Jason Lyall is the inaugural James Wright Chair in Transnational Studies and Associate Professor in the Department of Government at Dartmouth College, where he also directs the Political Violence FieldLab. His research examines the effects and effectiveness of political violence in civil and conventional wars and has been published widely in leading political science journals. He also contributes regularly to the Washington Post's Monkey Cage blog. Since 2009, he has conducted fieldwork in Afghanistan, where he served as technical advisor for USAID in 2012-15.
