Dr Jason Pandya-Wood (Jason Wood) is Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and an Associate Professor of Social Policy at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. He leads a diverse and vibrant faculty covering the subject areas of Business, Economics, Education, Organisational Psychology, Politics and International Relations, and Media and International Communications. As a member of the University’s management board, he also holds responsibility for the global engagement strategy portfolio. Jason has worked in, campaigned, researched, and taught on social policy and social justice issues for nearly 30 years, with a particular interest in sustainable community organising and development. For the past decade, he has worked with the charity Citizens UK to investigate the impact of community organising. Jason’s books include The Kindness Fix (Policy Press, 2024) which puts forward the argument for more compassion in social policy and politics. He is also the co-author of Youth Work: Preparation for Practice (Routledge, 2015) and co-editor of Work with Young People: Theory and Policy for Practice (Sage, 2009).
