Jay is a geophysicist who lives with his wife Rhonda in Fort Worth, Texas. Jay and Rhonda have five adult children and eleven grandchildren. Jay’s science background brings a unique approach to understanding the context of Jesus’ words and how they fit the new covenant promise that Jesus brought to us through His death and resurrection. It is an approach that is both refreshing and accessible. In Jay's words, "I have a suspicion that my road to becoming a geophysicist – and the discovery mindset that goes with it - was paved by a childhood fascination with finding things; specifically, with finding treasures. When I was a child, my bedroom was filled with collections of baseball cards, matchbooks, shiny stones, road maps, those cardboard folios of old coins, and all kinds of interesting stuff. I liked finding things." "But my greatest discovery has been finding the overarching message, the two-part and complete gospel, of the New Testament: trusting Christ to take away the penalty of my sin by His death on a cross, and believing God to fill me with resurrection power to see Christ live His life through me."
