Dark fantasy and horror author. Why? Because his first movie was his pregnant mother going to see The Exorcist in 1973. Hearing such terror in utero does something to a person. He grew up on all the classic black and white horror movies: Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman. He then moved on to Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Hellraiser. His love for the dark and macabre consumed his imagination, and the first horror story he wrote was at the age of 12 (a creative writing piece for school where he described his friends and himself being slaughtered in a slasher movie type tale--yea, imagine doing that today and the trouble you'd get into). Luckily, his teacher found it creative, even if it was a tad disturbing. With that, he was off on the road to become a writer--not for the money nor the fame, but for the love of telling stories and giving people chills.
