Jay Paterno is the author of the best-selling book Paterno Legacy: Enduring Lessons from the Life and Death of My Father. He also writes for StateCollege.com and his own Pigskin Stew Blog. His guest columns have appeared in USA Today, The New Orleans Times-Picayune, The Daily Collegian, The Centre Daily Times, The Harrisburg Patriot-News, The NCAA News and internationally in The Epoch Times and The Arab News. His 2012 closing speech at The Memorial for Joe Paterno was named one of the “Most Important American Speeches of the Century” by American Rhetoric. Before that he spent over twenty years coaching college football at The University of Virginia, The University of Connecticut, James Madison University and Penn State University. During that career he was named the Big Ten’s Best Quarterback Coach by Rivals.com and cited among the Top Offensive Coordinators in the Country. Sports Illustrated also named him among the Top 100 Sports Tweeters in the World for his Twitter feed. He lives with his wife, five children and two dogs in State College, Pennsylvania.
