Jayne Flaagan grew up in North Dakota and moved across the river to Minnesota many years ago. She lives with her husband and has three grown children. Flaagan received degrees in Advertising/Public Relations and French from the University of North Dakota. Her experience includes a background of over 30 years in Elementary and Early Childhood education, as well an extensive expertise in writing for many different publications and in several different genres. Flaagan speaks Spanish, loves to travel, read, do crossword puzzles, as well as having various other hobbies and past times. She is an extremely avid fan of the sunshine, which makes Minnesota winters a bit too long for her liking. Flaagan grew up in a very large family. She had eleven brothers and six sisters. (Yes, all siblings had the same too parents). To date, both of the author’s parents have passed away, as well as a sister, two brothers and several others that she was very close to. The author learned that not dealing in a healthy manner with some of her first losses only compounded the sense of loss that she felt from the most recent losses. Thus, began her venture to learn more about grieving and positive ways to deal with it. After having already lost so many loved ones, Flaagan makes the most of writing from her personal learning experiences. She offers deep insight on the subject of death and dying. Reading books have always been a huge part of her life, thus writing books about a subject that everyone deals with, such as death and grieving, became something that she felt compelled to do to help others.
