Jayne M. Booth has been writing ever since she could hold a pencil. She loves to participate in the adventures her characters invite her to join. She believes that every story should reveal a personal or global truth the reader can discover and claim as their own. Her first book, "SMASHING IDOLS: Transform Your Body, Mind, and Spirit with a Plant-Based Lifestyle," is the result of Jayne's 20+ years following a plant-based lifestyle and as a certified Health Minister teaching others the physical and spiritual benefits of that choice. Jayne's newest series is in a completely different genre -- historical fiction for middle-grade children. "Peeling Potatoes, Katie's Story" is Book 1 in the ROCKED IN THE CRADLE OF COAL series. These books are set in the early 20th-century American coal mines, with the hybrid flavor of Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House on the Prairie" series and Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables." ROCKED IN THE CRADLE OF COAL stories are based on historical evidence and personal interviews with those who lived through the early 1900's. Jayne hopes to provide a glimpse back in time, into the lives of the poorest of the poor, as seen through the eyes of the children who lived in the early 1900's. Book 2, "Tell me About My Father: Wasyl's Story," is a coming-of-age story about a young boy's search for answers and understanding about his deceased coal miner father. Book 3, "From the Mine to the Mansion: Ann's Story" features thirteen-year-old Ann as she bravely steps into the roll of an adult to help support her family. Watch for more Rocked in the Cradle of Coal books coming soon! Jayne is the mother of four children and grandmother to three little boys. She likes to paint, dance, hike, experiment with plant-based recipes, and read to anyone who will listen. Jayne and her husband live in Maryland with their furry little dog, Pepper.
