Jean Taft is a New England writer who loves rhyming and weather! She grew up in Vermont and now lives in Rhode Island with her family and two very happy dogs. RN by day, writer by night, she is a member of The Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and The Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA). Her first picture book, WORM WEATHER, was recently published by Grosset & Dunlap/Penguin Young Readers. WORM WEATHER was named to the NAIBA 2015 Pick of the Lists for Picture Books. Recently it was listed on The Nerdy Book Club in the Top ten picture books that encourage us to get out and explore (November 2016). Jean has participated in several book festivals including March Into Reading, The Chesapeake Children's Book Festival, and the Central Massachusetts Children's Book Festival. She enjoys visiting schools and libraries with her Worm-a-Palooza program. Jean says: "As a child I loved being outside on those rainy days when the worms were crawling around. You know, worm weather! I enjoy talking with grown-ups and kids alike about the book. As soon as I mention the title, most people know exactly what type of rainy day the book is about!"
