Jeanie Kim

My name is Jeanie Kim, I live in Seoul where I was born and raised. I previously taught English to teenagers at a language institute in Seoul for about 8 years. Then I started teaching Korean online in 2014. After about 9 years of teaching, I have met over 270 foreign students and conducted over 6,000+ lessons. These days, the Korean language is getting more and more popular and Korean culture is spreading worldwide. Some of my students have asked me to recommend some “Easy Korean Reading” books to them but I really couldn’t find any… Until now! So many books have titles like “Easy Korean” or “Korean reading for children” but they are really not easy at all for someone who is starting to learn Korean from the very beginning. My many years of teaching experience has helped me to write these books in a way that will be most useful to beginners. I think about what beginners would really like to know. Does a beginner really have to wait until they reach an intermediate level to read stories? How can I make sentences easier? What method would be most effective for beginners? My students have already given me feedback saying “It feels so good to understand almost everything without looking it up the dictionary” and “I can also practice speaking with the stories in your books because they are so easy to understand!” All the sentences in the books are used in everyday life. So it’s easy and fun to learn. “Easy Korean Reading” books will gently help you become more comfortable and efficient reading Korean.
