Jeff Williams

Following a career in the regular army, Jeff Williams trained and worked as a hospital consultant paediatrician in North Wales. During this time he wrote alpine mountaineering guide books as a hobby. After retirement he reduced the operational altitude somewhat by writing walking guidebooks to the Drakensberg mountains of South Africa and to the Ardennes region of Belgium. Subsequently he trained as a safari guide in South Africa and currently teaches the dark art of approaching dangerous game on foot at Motsumi Bush Courses based in Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa. His last book, published in December 2020, related the experiences and adventures of safari guides operating on foot in the dangerous game areas of South and East Africa. His latest book 'Dangerous Animals of Southern and Eastern Africa', co-authored with Patricia Goodwin, is published by Whittles in March 2024. Jeff lives in Llanfairtalhaiarn, North Wales.
